A native of New Bern, N.C., Ryan Heisey first began playing golf when he was 7 years old. In high school he was recruited and played for University of North Carolina, Greensboro, before he graduated in 2010 with a degree in Tourism Management. The same year Heisey graduated from college he was named the State of North Carolina Amateur Champion, setting the all-time lowest 72-hole score in North Carolina Amateur Championship history with an 11-under par 269.
In 2014, Ryan Heisey turned pro. After four years and 41 professional starts, Heisey decided to step away from his professional golf career and instead focus on coaching college golf. Now in his 8th year of coaching, Heisey enjoys guiding the next generation of elite golfers.
Ryan Heisey is married to the former Jillian Idle and together they have a 2-year-old son, Wilson.
